	Placement ความหมาย คือ หมายถึง วิธีจัดที่นั่งโต๊ะในการเลี้ยงอาหารสำหรับนักการทูต โดยคำนึงถึงลำดับอาวุโส เพื่อป้องกันมิให้เกิดความรู้สึกขุ่นเคืองหรือหัวเสีย เรื่องการจัดที่นั่งในการเลี้ยงอาหารโดยคำนึงถึงลำดับอาวุโสนี้ นักการทูตส่วนใหญ่ไม่ว่าที่ไหน มักจะถือว่ามีความสำคัญไม่น้อย เพราะถือเป็นเรื่องของศักดิ์ศรีในฐานะที่เป็นตัวแทนของประเทศ ฝ่ายที่รับผิดชอบโดยตรงต่อการจัดที่นั่งเช่นนี้ได้แก่ กรมพิธีการทูตของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ส่วนลำดับของอาวุโสก็ถือตามวันเวลาที่นักการทูตแต่ละคนได้เข้าประจำตำแหน่ง ที่ในประเทศผู้รับ กล่าวคือ ผู้ที่เข้าประจำตำแหน่งก่อนก็คือผู้ทีมีอาวุโสกว่าผู้ที่มาประจำตำแหน่ง หน้าที่ทีหลัง
